Calvin Witt

I live in Chicago working for a start-up called Opto Investments (https://www.optoinvest.com). I double-majored in Math and Finance at UW-Madison. After graduation, I began my career working, here in Chicago, in Morningstar's Investment Management group as an Investment Analyst. I started to learn how to program from the many wonderful resources provided by the open source community (the culture of which was one of the many things that drew me so strongly to programming), and, three years ago, I started at Opto Investments as a Data Analyst. A year later, I moved into my current role at Opto as a Software Engineer. I find the ability to engage in the continual process of learning and building systems with my colleagues and friends in order to meet the world's challenges extremely rewarding and a true privilege.
